There's a difference.

My Minnesota Twins lost a tough game to the New York Yankees tonight. The Twins blew a 3-1 lead in the 9th inning, and finally lost in 11 innings, 4-3. I was rooting for the Twins, of course. But I took the loss matter-of-factly. Without any grieving. Because I'm a casual fan. Rather than a rabid fan. If the Chicago Cubs had lost that game, I'd be grieving for a week or two. Yes, there's a difference between a casual relationship and a love relationship. --Jim Broede

Why would you make this a double post? Numbers count again?

  2. You're a strange one. Does it really matter? --Jim

  3. If it was a double post, now you've made it a triple post. --Jim

  4. By the way, I don't think it was a double post. --Jim

  6. Instead of signing yourself as 'anonymous,' I suggest that you call yourself 'The Strange One.' --Jim

  7. Sounds to me that St. Louis Cardinals fans have lost some of their arrogance. Having their team swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the play-offs. Be humble, Cardinal fans. Wait till next year. Then it'll be the Cubs' turn to be led to slaughter. Anyway, take solace. At least you got into the playoffs and you shoulda won one game. That second game loss was hard to take, wasn't it? --Jim

  9. You know the rules. I'm a tough task master. Follow the rules, and you'll get printed. Break the rules, and you'll be wasting your time. This is my blog. Not yours. Indeed, you are a Strange One. Don't you know how to listen? I've told you the rules. Now behave yourself. --Jim

  10. By the way, Chicago Cubs fans, liberals, romantic idealists and free-thinkers get special treatment from me. --Jim

  11. Also, try not to be boring. And stupid. At least put forth effort. I don't like boring people. Especially lazy ones. I give credit for effort. Even if you fail. But laziness is inexcusable. Even if you have half a brain, some of you can do better. I've known idiots who have done better than some lazy people. --Jim

  13. But women are my favorite people. Other than snob ladies. If you're a snob, it's best to steer clear of me. --Jim

  14. I'm also a staunch opponent and critic of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. That's the influence of my Italian girlfriend. She'd rather that I not use her name. But I assure you that she's the most beautiful and intelligent woman in the world. Meanwhile, I intend to maltreat Berlusconi. He's a low-life cad. And an ideal mate for a snob lady. --Jim

  15. I suspect, Strange One, that you are a sick woman. You'd have to be if you are preoccupied with me. Don't you have better things to do than read this blog and write to me? If not, you'd better get a life. Better that than becoming a stalker. Better that you go in for treatment. You can be cured and become reasonably normal again. --Jim

  16. preoccupied with you? I doubt anonymous is they most likely use this blog as I do the sunday funnies.

  17. You gotta admit, I'm a humorist. A very funny guy. And you sound like you come here for a very sane and entertaining reason. But the 'Strange One,' believe me, she ain't normal. She's a very sick woman. In need of treatment. Right away. If you know her, please try to get her help. There's a few more of you living on the edge, too. --Jim

  18. I have nothing against the Sunday funnies. But I don't read 'em. I'm more inclined to read the opinion pieces in the newspaper. Albeit, if I read a conservative columnist, I do get some laughs. I've also learned to laugh at the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party. Let's hope they don't pose any real danger. And that we can keep them in our communities rather than get 'em committed to institutions/asylums. --Jim

I assure you, I am not who you refer to as "Strange". That was the first time I posted here. I am the one who wrote about you posting here, and at the Alz. forum, not the one you are calling names. I knew you wouldn't print it, because it is true.

  20. I'm convinced there's more than one Strange One. You can be known as Strange Two. And I'm sure that Strange Three and Strange Four are lurking out there, too. I'm having difficulty keeping track of all the strange people. --Jim

  22. Now do you understand why some of your comments haven't been printed? They qualified as idiotic. Try. Try. If you improve to the point of becoming imbeciles, I'll give you another chance. Otherwise, you best go home. --Jim

  24. Like someone once said: it is like watching a train wreck. You can't bring yourself to look away. It is so bizarre, and you are hoping that someone comes by, and cleans up the mess.
