I'd rather sell flowers.
Interesting. I’ve observed that Africans and the Bangladesh who have migrated to my city (Carbonia) in Sardinia, have both taken to street peddling. But different products. The Africans, mostly from Nigeria and Ghana, sell knick-knacks. Everything from umbrellas to nose tissues to socks. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh sell flowers. Bouquets. Trying to convince Italian men to pursue their romantic instincts. By taking flowers home to their loved ones. The Bangladesh operate at curbside. Stopping traffic to make their sales. The Africans take to the parking lots of grocery stores. Personally, I’d hate to make a living as a street peddler. But if I had to, let me sell flowers rather than other stuff. –Jim Broede
