I'm willing to pay more taxes.

My street peddler friend, Moses John, tells me he’d like to leave Italy. And move to Germany. In the hope of finding a better employment situation. He’s 26. And knows that there isn’t much future in being a street peddler. But at least, it’s enough to get him by. So he doesn’t have to eat out of a dumpster. I see Moses almost every day. He does his vending in the parking lots of grocery stores here in Carbonia. In Sardinia. It’s really sad that people have to make a living this way. But hey, unemployment is high in Italy, and almost all over the world. There’s gotta be a solution to the problem. Such as guaranteed employment for everyone. Even if that means far more public sector jobs paid for with taxes, taxes and more taxes. On the people that can afford to pay taxes. It’s a way to redistribute wealth for the sake of the common good. I’ve redistributed a little bit of my income into Moses John’s pocket. That’s a start. I’m also willing to pay more taxes. To benefit the needy. –Jim Broede
