The good life. Keeps me on the go.
I’m occupied every day. Busy. But with pleasure. I walk 10 miles. I peddle on a stationary bicycle for 30 miles. And I take to my computer. And write, write, write. Stuff like this. Some 5700 threads in my blog. In the past 5 years. And I cook meals. And do household chores. Here in Sardinia. Where I’m living with my Italian true love. Yes, I’m busy, busy, busy. Happily busy. I try to mix with people, too. All sorts. Street peddlers. Grocery clerks. Italians who mistake me for an Italian. And ask for directions. And I’m observing. Everything. This guy. That guy. This gal. That gal. My true love has a handful of friends. And I associate with them. Especially the ones that speak English. And I write to folks back home in Minnesota. And all over the world. Read the New York Times, too. Daily. On the internet. And in print when I’m in the USA. And I check in to the Chicago Tribune sports section. To keep track of the Chicago sports teams. Mostly the Cubs and the Bears. And I read books. Literature. Biographies. Politics. And at the end of the month, I’m returning to Minnesota. For spring and summer. And then I’ll be back in Italy again. Starting in October. For autumn and winter. It’s the good life. Keeps me on the go. And happy. Wish it could be forever. But I’ll take whatever I can get. One day at a time. Savoring it all. That’s why I was put on Mother Earth. And blessed with life. –Jim Broede
