We just print a correction.
I try to imagine what it must be like to be a psychiatrist or a clergyman. Because one must deal with sadness on an almost daily basis. One must be able to console and treat people going through very bad times. And one must try to reach some people who often are not very reachable. There's so much chance for failure instead of success. Imagine a psychiatrist or a clergyman who was unable to prevent a suicide. I suppose the same goes for a doctor trying to save a life. At some point, one just has to steel one's self against bad outcomes. And hey, the thing is doctors make mistakes. And the saying goes that they bury their mistakes. Not like a journalist. We just print a correction. --Jim Broede
