I listen to my body.

For seven straight days, I've gone at least 20 miles daily on my bicycle. That adds up to about 150 miles in a week. For avid bicyclists, that's not a whole lot. Some will put in that many miles in a day. I'm not avid. I'm just trying to come back from injuries sustained when I crashed my bicycle into a parked vehicle. I strained muscles. And I'm of a mind of no pain, no gain. So I push myself. If I don't exercise, my muscles tighten up. If I exercise, the muscles tend to loosen up. Also, exercise is good for weight control. And that makes me feel better. My bicycling started this summer when I had a sore foot that curtailed some of my walking. But that was more than a muscle malady. It was a tendon that needed rest. Anyway, I listen to my body. I do what it tells me to do. --Jim Broede
