She still makes me smile.

I've mixed with many Alzheimer patients. And I find that some of 'em retain a sense of humor. Right through Stage 4. And maybe beyond. It becomes a double blessing when care-givers retain their sense of humor, too. And if it's not humor, it's a sense of something else. We need only to look for it. And recognize it. I'm always looking for ways to make Alzheimer patients smile. And in so doing, they often make me smile. By the way, my Jeanne died almost 4 years ago. But she still makes me smile. Even makes me laugh sometimes. --Jim Broede
