Don't tell me it's 'too personal.'

To be meaningful, life has to be personal...and, unfortunately, I am too often encouraged by others to be impersonal. To make shortshrift of the personal stuff, especially in my writing. And I keep objecting. Because I'm a personal sort of guy. I like to be very personal. Not only with my acquaintances and friends, but with total strangers. Why not? If I am not allowed to be personal in the way I write, I might as well not write at all. Please don't tell me to leave something out because it's 'too personal.' Because that's the very thing that makes my writing significant and meaningful. --Jim Broede
