I want comfort. And no blisters.

We went into a shoe store today. A warehouse-type place. With rows and rows of shoes. Maybe the biggest shoe store I've ever been in. And I expected to find many, many Italian-made shoes. Since we're in Carbonia in Sardinia. But many of the shoes I looked at were made in China. Men's shoes. Women shoes. Children's shoes. We didn't buy anything. Just browsed. I like to do that. To get a feel for merchandise in Italy. It feels so much different than America. Yet, it is much the same. After-Christmas sales. But it was Sunday. And maybe there were 5 customers in the store. Including us. Nobody asked me what I wanted. And even if someone did, maybe I wouldn't have understood. Anyway, this seems to be the place to buy shoes. Affordable shoes. Some were marked down to 10 or 15 euros. I've been window shopping in some of the finer stores. And often the cheapest running shoes sell for over 100 euros. They're nice looking shoes. But first of all, I want comfort. And no blisters. --Jim Broede
