I'd rather savor a little bit.

I'm going to Rome next Saturday. For a few days. With my true love. She has business to take care of. She goes there now and then. But it'll be my first visit. Other than being at the airport just outside of the city proper. I've seen Rome from the air. On a clear, sunny day. Very impressive. The early Romans never saw it from my perspective. From on high. I don't necessarily want to see the usual tourist attractions. Maybe not even the colisium or the Vatican. I'd rather catch the character of every-day Rome. Away from the tourists. Maybe that can't be done. I'll find out. I never had any great desire to go to Rome. I'd rather go to out-of-the-way places. Off the beaten track. Such as remote parts of Iceland, Scotland and rural Italy. I'll ask my true love to steer me to off-beat places in Rome. The ones the locals frequent. And tourists hardly ever see. And I want us to not rush around. Let's just take it leisurely. No need to see everything. I'd rather savor a little bit. --Jim Broede
