I'm liking what I see abroad.

The more I travel, the more I see that life is good in other parts of the world. It's a matter of savoring the goodness of life. Even poor people know how to smile. I see people that make a loaf of bread out of a few crumbs. I know it's a shame that they have to. But they still find ways to love life. Despite the pitfalls. They get sustenance out of meaningful human relationships. And I find that people in some countries I visit have more sense and feeling and devotion to the common good than we Americans. Thus, they have less of a gap between the rich and the poor. Not in all countries, mind you. But in some. --Jim Broede
