A robot doesn't have to think.
We’re all unique people. Did you know that? Even identical twins aren’t identical. One can tell a difference. And that’s what I like about life. The differences. But some grand designers want us all to be the same. To march in lock-step. Or maybe even a goose-step. I’m taken to task sometimes. For not thinking like others. For not accepting the party line. I want people to be themselves. But I’d also like it if they kept evolving. Growing. Expanding. Which means they are on the road to enlightenment. No longer static. No longer robots. Oh, I’ll accept robots. Because robots like being robots. They’re comfortable with it. Makes me a little uncomfortable. The moment I feel I’ve adopted robotic ways. But maybe that ain’t all bad. Actually, I often find it difficult, if not impossible, to differentiate between bad and good. Because conventional bad can be good. And conventional good can be bad. That confuses me. But still I accept it. Because I don’t mind being confused. Doesn’t frighten me. Thing about a robot. One can be programmed to eliminate the confusion. Because a robot doesn’t have to think. –Jim Broede
