Good crazy.
I tell some people in depression that they have an opportunity to live a fairy tale type life. Maybe that's cruel of me. Because I suggest they get out of their funk. When really, it seems impossibe. To them. They must feel that I don't understand. That I'm saying, 'Pick yourself up. By your bootstraps.' And maybe I am. If that's the only way. Accomplish the impossible. Walk on water. At some point in life it's necessary to start believing in the impossible. To believe in fairy tales. Creating a life. And living happily ever after. Takes a vivid imagination to be able to do that. Maybe some self-deception. A degree of pretending. But I see people pretending all the time. Pretending to be moral. And normal. And sane. When they aren't. They are downright crazy. Unfortunately, bad crazy. When there really is such a thing as good crazy. Such as believing in fairy tales. And the impossible. People in depression are crazy. Bad crazy. Some of 'em could just as easily be happy. Good crazy. --Jim Broede
