I want a vastly different America.

Profits have never been bigger. In that sense, the American economy is thriving. But wages are headed down, down, down. Doesn’t seem fair. But I guess fairness is in the eye of the beholder. If you are a corporate boss, or at or near the top of the financial pyramid, it’s a good thing. Maybe immoral. But good for your pocketbook. Good for your niche in society. No doubt about it. Certain individuals are thriving in today’s economy. The elite. The select few. And I don’t like it. The immorality of it all. It isn’t right. Not the decent way to run an economy.  There’s such a thing as the common good. And it’s not being served.  But that’s the nature of a greedy capitalist society.  Makes me less than a loyal American, I guess. Because I ain’t pledging allegiance to this kind of America.  Give me a vastly different America. Please. –Jim Broede
