Relating in truly loving ways.
Maybe I relate to people in unorthodox ways. Don’t really know. Because I’m baffled about how people are suppose to relate. No right way. No wrong way. Whichever way seems comfortable, I suppose. Generally, I dispense with the small talk. And get to stimulating stuff. Stimulating for me, that is. Maybe boring for others. Anyway, that tells me whether to continue cultivating an extended dialogue/conversation. Especially with strangers. Maybe the stranger doesn’t want to talk about meaningful stuff. My Italian true love was a stranger. Only for an instant. Or less. Really, we connected right off the bat. Even though we met initially from a geographic distance. Still, we got to meaningful stuff right away. Became immediately captivated/intrigued by each other. That’s the way it’s been. For over five years. Never stopped learning more about each other. And the more I learn, the more I am enamored. A good sign. No doubt about it. Yes, we know how to relate. In truly loving ways. –Jim Broede
