Hearing silence even better.
I’m not listening to much traditional music lately. Instead, I’m embracing and enjoying silence. When I’m alone, I often listen to silence. It has sort of a musical quality to it. Music I never heard before. Because I didn’t have the sense to listen to silence. Maybe I need a new definition. For music. Or a new category. The music of silence. First of all, it’s profound. Stimulates me. Especially my spirit. It has a magical cadence. My Italian true love also has taught me to worship silence. To find new ways to make silence more silent. She sleeps with cotton plugged into both ears. Helps to hear silence even better. I might try it some day. But I’ll buy readymade ear plugs. More aesthetic and functional than cotton. –Jim Broede
