To the last bite and last sip.
In the best eating places in Italy, one can dine sufficiently on the appetizers. My Italian true love and I often do. Like the restorante (I forgot it’s name, unfortunately) we discovered in Bari, in the south of Italy. She ordered an appetizer consisting mostly of sausages and other exotic delicacies. And I had a plate of five different cheeses. We topped the meal off with two different pasta dishes. Plus wine. We split everything. For me, that’s a perfect meal. Because I like lots of accruements. Little wonder that it takes me an hour or two to consume an Italian dinner. I eat reasonable portions. But slowly. Ever so slowly. I savor everything. To the last bite and last sip. –Jim Broede
