Closed minds. And no imagination.

The problem. Simply put. It’s lack of imagination. An inability to see the other side. A rich Republican, for instance, fails to recognize what it’s like to live poor. Therefore, he has no problem cutting back on food stamps and opposing an increase in the minimum wage. But he’ll readily support corporate welfare. Measures intended to make the rich richer.  Meanwhile, there’s no empathy for the poor. And the suggestion that the poor deserve to be poor.  Yes. It’s a pity that many of us see life only from our own all-too-often biased and selfish perspective.  That especially goes in the world of politics. No objectivity. No kindness. No fairness. But worst of all. Closed minds. And no imagination. –Jim Broede
