Enough. Enough of endless lists.
I have a friend. A neighbor. Who puts up with
me. Even though I occasionally take her to task. For getting ahead of herself.
Now she wants to make a list. Of her many priorities. And I mean many, many,
many priorities. She overwhelms herself. With reminders. Of things to do.
Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. Next year.
In the process, she loses track of today. Wear blinders, I tell her.
Become enamored with the moment. Grasp and savor the now. Forget about tomorrow. Until tomorrow
arrives. I suspect that my friend lays awake at night. Instead of having peace
of mind, she’s thinking, thinking, thinking about her list for tomorrow. Better
to simply enjoy the bliss of falling asleep. And being rested and rejuvenated.
For a glorious tomorrow. –Jim Broede
