I'll take Haydn over the newscast.

I turned off the news tonight. And played Haydn piano sonatas. Into the early morning hours. Really I should do this more often.  Watching and listening to the news is a waste of time. After all, I can’t do anything about world events anyway.  And most of the news is dispiriting. So much better to listen to joyful Haydn. Makes me wonder. If it would have been better to live in Haydn’s time. When news didn’t travel very fast – or at all. --Jim Broede
