For me to follow. Or not.

I get advice. All the time. Solicited. And unsolicited. I welcome advice. Sometimes I follow it. Other times, I don't. Depends. I wonder. About the rest of you. Do you often get advice? And how do you feel about it? To me, even bad advice is good. After all, it's an indication that people care. To take the time. To offer advice.  Better than indifference. Some how. I've reached them. I give advice, too.  Usually in round-about ways. By talking. About how I handle certain situations. It's not meant as gospel. For others to follow. Sometimes, it's misconstrued. And taken that way. That can be unfortunate. Because I was merely musing. Out loud. In a take it or leave it manner. Telling of my personal experience. And how I feel about life. It's a way to venture into the world. To introduce myself. And to become less of a stranger. I encourage others to do the same. Thereby giving me the opportunity to listen. Perhaps to well-intended advice. For me to follow. Or not.  --Jim Broede
