In my younger days, I used to stir controversy. Just for the
sake of stirring controversy. Maybe I still do. It’s a natural, instinctive
thing. Oh, I’ve probably mellowed. I don’t do it in a malicious manner. I’m more kindly in my old age. And I’ve
learned to poke fun. At myself. More than at other people. I try to not take
life too seriously. I’m more laid back. Though that’s open to dispute. I used
to be a somewhat angry young man. But cultivating anger and disdain is an utter
waste of time. I’d much rather fall in love. With almost anything. But
particularly with the life force. Now I spend my time. Savoring stuff. Believe me. There’s so very much to
savor. --Jim Broede
