No matter how miserable.

I wonder. How many of us can face the truth. All the time. Maybe not anyone. Because the truth can be brutal.  Deflating. Impossible to accept. Therefore, we find it necessary to live lies. In order to survive. Who was it? That said ‘The truth shall set us free.’ Many have said it. But it’s also a passage from the Bible. The true meaning can be taken in a variety of ways. For instance, it could be a freeing of one’s conscience. Or an outright admission of being a liar. With a double identity. And that true freedom is to be who you are. Even if it happens to be a liar and scoundrel and politician. Yes. Yes. Let’s learn to face the truth, everyone. No matter how miserable. --Jim Broede
