How to be lulled to sleep.

I wonder. How many of us really care. About abstract stuff. Such as politics, religion and philosophy. Relatively few, I suspect. Instead, many, if not most people, are occupied. With more practical matters. Of making a living. Meeting family obligations. Creating a little bit of security.  Getting through life. As survivors. I’ve seen polls. Indicating a general apathy. Across the land. Many don’t vote. It’s too much of a bother. And those that do, are swayed mostly by sound bites. No time. To fully educate ourselves. About politics.  Same goes for religion and philosophy. Many don’t have any affiliation.   Putting it bluntly. We just don’t care. And if someone brings up the subjects. Of politics or religion.  In every day conversation. It’s too controversial. Some get turned off. Rather than turned on. Preferring more pleasant topics.  That make us more comfortable. Better to be lulled to sleep. --Jim Broede
