Something new and delightful.

I have very little respect for the Catholic cardinals. Because they always find the wrong thing to do. Of course, that’s merely my opinion. I’m sure that most of the cardinals would say, ‘Little wonder, he isn’t Catholic. We don’t want free-thinkers like him.’ Anyway, the cardinals are a bunch of old men. Average age 72. Of course, that’s still younger than me. I’m 77. But the older I get, the freer I get. In terms of thought. I try not to be stuck in one location. Rather be daring. And try new things. New ways to think of religion and spirituality. I want to create new traditions. Rather than stick with the old ones for 2,000 years, and evermore. Maybe that’s the problem with the cardinals. They want everything to stay the same. No evolution. Their creed is permanence. Which amounts to everlasting death. As for me, give me everlasting life. I’ll settle for nothing less. I choose to keep evolving. Something new and delightful. Every day. –Jim Broede
