No ponytail for me.

This clip of a women's college soccer match between New Mexico and BYU features a tough young lady. I'm afraid that certain snob ladies that don't like me may recruit this player and send her after me. I'll try to keep my distance. And it's a good reason for me to never grow long hair and turn it into a ponytail. Click on this for a look. --Jim Broede

That would be the most female action you have seen in a very long time. I am shocked you wouldn't want that

You make it sound like women don't like me. But it turns out I'm very likeable. Only snob ladies don't like me. And not every lady is a snob. --Jim

You snob ladies only know me from a distance. That's your loss. And my gain. --Jim

You snob ladies go around with your noses in the air. That blocks your vision. You miss so much. Your noses always get in the way. --Jim

I am so sorry jim, I do know you and I am no way a snob.

Would you like to talk about birchwood or is that too close to home for you. You always thought we all liked you. So sorry, we all talked about you behind your back.

No need to publish this

Don't underestimate yourself. Because that's what genuine snob ladies do. They talk anonymously or behind one's back. You have all the qualifications of a snob lady.--Jim

And yes, we can talk about Birchwood. I was Jeanne's advocate and protector there. And I didn't pussyfoot around when I found incompetent staff members. And they got reprimanded or dismissed. Maybe you're one that got reprimanded. Or got fired. Some of you even got taken to task by the state health department. Fortunately, there also are lots of competent and outstanding people on the staff. And overall, Birchwood was a good experience. We learned teamwork. And I still have staff friends working at Birchwood. --Jim

Sorry again jim, You always spoke highly of me. I did my job and very well I must admit. I did not get fired, I moved on. I finished my schooling got my license and a much better job. You honestly do not have many "staff" friends. You see we all used to humor the old guy. As for the state coming in, that had no reflection on the staff it was the home itself. Although I must admit you had a pretty nice file yourself. Ask someone in the know about it. If they are honest they will tell you.
BTW can you tell me where that chapel is located?

Sounds to me like you're the classic two-faced being. If I said I liked you -- well, then I really did like you. And I may still like you. Despite being two-faced. There were some people there that I didn't like. For instance, two of the social services directors. And I didn't hide that. One was asked to leave. By the administration. Another quit without notice after a run-in with me. Because the administrator sided with me, and not with her. I looked at it as good riddance. Hey, not everybody at Birchwood was my friend. But I have friends there. Unless, like you, they are two-faced. Anyway, I didn't tolerate shoddy care-giving. Especially by professionals. Some of the nurses aides really needed to find other professions. They were in the wrong line of work. Nice to hear that you went back to school and found a better job. Sounds like you weren't too happy at Birchwood. Maybe it was because of people like me. Or maybe you didn't have the right attitude. -- Jim

As for the chapel, it's plainly marked at the end of a hallway on the first floor. I lobbied for a room for Jeanne next to the chapel, and got it. The last 3 months at Birchwood, Jeanne resided next to the chapel. It became sort of a living room for us. Very nice. I'd often take her into the chapel for lunch and dinner. I'm surprised you weren't aware of the chapel. But I gather you must have worked on the 2nd floor in the memory care unit, where Jeanne resided before moving next to the chapel. By the way, they held church services there most Sundays. Apparently, you didn't attend. Or you would have been aware of the chapel. You should have taken more time to get acquainted with the place. --Jim

You know, I was rather demanding at Birchwood. For instance, the residents got only one shower a week. The state health department said everyone was entitled to 2 showers. So, I insisted on it. But at home, Jeanne was used to a nightly shower. So I asked for permission to take Jeanne into the shower room nightly. Yes, 7 nights a week. And I personally gave Jeanne a shower. And a full body massage. And I scrubbed down the shower room every night. Leaving it very clean. And when I found that the room wasn't clean when I arrived, I filed a complaint with the duty nurse. Little wonder that some of the aides may not have liked me. I was a stickler for cleanliness. And tender loving care. --Jim

Believe me, every resident of a nursing home needs a protector and advocate. Especially the patients in the memory care unit. They are very vulnerable people. I saw too many that were neglected. Because of inadequate staffing. --Jim

Fact of the matter is that if I had not shown up daily at Birchwood to serve as Jeanne's advocate and protector, she would not have received what I deem adequate care. It's not all the fault of incompetent nurses' aides. But understaffing. The aides are often spread far too thin. Especially in the memory care unit. Fortunately, I didn't miss a single day with Jeanne in the 38 months and one day she was at Birchwood. When the care was inadequate, it was corrected. Post haste. Because I was on the scene. Usually for 8 to 10 hours a day. Maybe that rubbed some nurses' aides the wrong way. Maybe even you. But so be it. Birchwood and other nursing homes need more supplemental care-givers. Such as me. They'd be better places for it. Some of you nurses' aides never got beyond the second floor. That's probably why you were unaware of the chapel on the first floor. Hope you learned something when you went back to school. Such as obeying the HIPPA laws of not using personal information you gleaned while working at Birchwood. --Jim

This is another reason why I like to see people identify themselves here. That way, it's more easily determined if you have an axe to grind. Chances are, if you were a nurses' aide at Birchwood, you had an encounter or two with me. Because I didn't tolerate incompetence at any time when you aides were dealing with Jeanne. Didn't matter whether I liked you or not. --Jim

I'd like to see the anonymous idiots that seek to have comments printed here start numbering themselves. Such as Idiot 1, Idiot 2, Idiot 3. Let's try to differentiate a little bit. I see that others at least have had the decency to list themselves as Anon56 and Anon2. I don't know what happened between 3 and 55. They must have got lost on the way to the forum. So maybe they are idiots, too. But don't know it. --Jim
