Socialism may yet save us.

Let's give credit where credit is due, folks. Social security and Medicare are two fine examples of socialist programs. And they are generally well-received by Americans. But many of these same Americans bad-mouth socialism. Because they've been brainwashed. To hate and despise the word 'socialism.' The point being, they haven't stopped to think that we're already a socialist country. In many ways. In fact, socialism is what may ultimately save us from exploitive capitalism. --Jim Broede

Examples of Socialist programs, yes, but far from FINE.
Socialism, in itself, will ruin America. "Democratic Socialism" is different. We don't need more lazy bums with their hands constsntly out, beggin for more. That is exactly what we could be headed for.

A strong economy, with programs to help those truly in need, while making sure those who do succeed in helping themselves, are not brought down by constantly having to provide for those who refuse to do so, is what we need to focus on. Total dependency on a government makes a weak nation. I do not want Washington D.C. to tell me when blow my nose, and when not to.
