Nothing like a Minnesota winter.

The signs of autumn start sneaking in. By September. Because this is Minnesota. And we're close to Canada. Where there's cool air year-round. Here it is. Only the third day of September. And it's cool. And windy. And leaves are starting to change color near the top of some trees. When I go riding my bicycle today, I'll don a sweater or jacket. Maybe even a headband. Too early for a choker (a modified scarf). Oh, we'll still have summery days. Maybe well into October. When snow might arrive. I can take winter. But I won't stick around for all of it. I am planning a sojourn to Sardinia. In the Mediterranean Sea. They have winter there, too. But it's nothing like a Minnesota winter. --Jim Broede
