The secret of happiness.

I know people who allow themselves to go into doldrums. They don't have to. But they choose to. And then they blame other people for their mental misery. Yes, they want to feel blameless. As if it's not their fault. They expect other people to make them happy. Their friends. Their acquaintances. Even strangers. But I say, it's up to us to make ourselves happy. We can choose to avoid the doldrums. But it takes some effort. Maybe even ingenuity. Takes a mindset. Every day, I tell myself I want to be happy. And then I ask, how can I make it happen? Invariably, it's as simple as reminding myself that I'm in love. -Jim Broede
