We are free to be stupid.

It's long overdue. Finally, Barack Obama has proposed a massive public works program. Costing $50 billion. Rebuilding the nation's infrastructure. Roads. Bridges. Parks. You name it. That would put many of the unemployed back to work. Now, one of 5 construction workers are jobless. “It doesn’t do anybody any good when so many hard-working Americans have been idle for months, even years, at a time when there is so much of America that needs rebuilding,” Obama said. That's the truth. But we all know that Republicans will oppose all this. As an example of "runaway spending" by the Democrats. And maybe a majority of Americans will side with Republicans. Because we are stupid. Ignorant. Idiots. I accept that. I don't like it. But it is what it is. I can't do much about. Except complain. Like now. But I live in the land of the free.
