...already in hell.

Generally speaking, I think politicians are deceitful. Liars. Distorters of the truth. Capable of knifing each other, and almost anyone, including their mothers, in the back. I might tend to trust a Mafioso more than I'd trust a politician, especially a Republican. Maybe I'm exaggerating. Just a little bit. But if I sound leery of politicians, it's because I am. At different stages in my life, I've tried to play politics. And believe me, it's disgusting. It's a dirty, corrupting game. You begin to lose principle. And dignity. And fairness. You begin to feel like scum. And you either get out, or you get used to gutter-fighting. Because the aim is to obtain power, and your way, at almost any cost. Some politicians fool themselves. Thinking they are in a lofty pursuit. They've been convinced by the devil that it's all right to sell one's soul in order to achieve an ends. Some politicians, such as Barack Obama, may think they can change the system for the better. But ultimately, they are dragged down into the morass. It's like sinking in quicksand. The more you struggle to keep your head aloft, the more you are pulled down. Until you suffocate. Or ask for the hand of the devil, to save you. And then it's too late. Because you are already in hell. --Jim Broede
