I gotta scratch my head.

I think we have crazy people on the loose. All over America. Many of 'em running for political office. Even for Congress. And the U.S. Senate. Years ago, people like this would have been put into an insane asylum. But now we try to keep them in local communities. Mixed in with the rest of us. I'm not sure that's good. Because I think these people need treatment. To get them back to some degree of reasonable reality. In the old days, if someone proclaimed that they were Napoleon or Jesus, they'd be certifiably crazy. Now we give them time on television and radio. Don't believe me? Well, tune in Glennn Beck on the Fox Network. Or have you ever heard of Rush Limbaugh? Or Michele Bachmann? Or Dick Armey? Or Newt Gingrich? My gawd. They all need to see a shrink round the clock. In an institution. Instead, we just let 'em make asses of themselves. On a daily basis. The scary part is that they attract other crazies. It's almost as if they have a contagious disease. Maybe it's time to consider quarantines. I remember quarantines back in the 1940s. For people that had polio. Even whooping cough. And yes, we did put away crazy people. But now we give free rein to crazies. And we lock up people for minor crimes. Because their skin color ain't white. Isn't that kind of crazy? We actually elect some of our craziest people to public office. And pay 'em salaries to do crazy things. Let me tell you. I gotta scratch my head. In disbelief. --Jim Broede
