The rich don't worry about poverty.

One in five kids in America live in poverty. It's shameful --that as a society we aren't doing anything about it. But still, we have enough money to conduct wars. Wars that are expected to cost trillions of dollars. Makes me wonder about this nation's priorities. We have a non-functioning congress. Full of obstructionists. I give them little respect. Especially the Republicans, who want to give millionaires and billionaires tax breaks. At the same time that they ignore that gawd-awful statistic. One in five youngsters in poverty. You'd think that would bother the consciences of our politicians. But hey, they're well-paid. They don't have to worry about poverty. --Jim Broede
