Treat them as scum-bags.

Barack Obama doesn't have friends in the Republican Party. Evidenced by the fact that the party's leadership says it's priority is to see to it that Obama becomes a one-term president. That they'll do everything they can to make his life miserable and to oppose and even sabotage his agenda the rest of the way. But Obama is making the mistake of trying to work with the new Republican majority in Congress. As if Republicans are fine and decent people. And that maybe he can cultivate friendships with Republicans. That's naive. Better that Obama recognize Republicans for what they are. Enemies. And that's how Republicans should be treated. Like enemies. Beyond redemption. Forget the social nicities. Obama is dealing with scum-bags. Treat them as such. --Jim Broede
