I may well sin again.

I was a little bit hungry. At 8 o'clock in the evening. While walking the streets in Cagliari, the capital city of Sardinia. Hadn't had supper yet. So we stepped into a little coffee bar, which abound in all Italian cities. If one asks for coffee, one is automatically served a rich espresso. But this time, I got far more than coffee. A deep fried doughnut. Warm. Covered with sugar. And oh, so greasy. I'm a little bit of a health nut. But I ate it anyway. Because I'm a devil and wanted to commit a sin. To my surprise, my girlfriend ordered six of the doughnuts to take home with us. She's normally more of a health crackpot than me. Apparently, she wanted to be a bigger, more flagrant sinner than me. When we got home, we split one of the doughnuts. Heated in the oven. Now there are five left. And I've resolved to let my true love lead the sinful parade. I'll try not to sin again. Although I make no guarantees. --Jim Broede
