A more advanced civilization.

When we go grocery shopping in Sardinia, we sort of rent a wheeled push cart. The kind we have in America. But in Sardinia, we plop a 1 euro coin into the handle, to get the cart unlocked. And then in we go. With the cart. We can wheel out our purchases to the parked car. Then we have an option. We can return the cart to where we got it, and retrieve our coin. Or we can leave the cart in the parking lot, and lose our euro. Most everybody returns their cart. Instead of leaving them to clutter up the premises. I have yet to see this practice put into play in the USA. Maybe it's a sign that Sardinians are a more advanced civilization. --Jim Broede
