'Long live Sardinia.'
For a year, I've searched high and low for the proper recharge connection for the battery in my Samsung digital camera. I lost the original one long ago. And I've been forced to use an unreliable, hard-to-operate substitute. And the apparatus went kaput on me recently in Sardinia. So I was thinking seriously of buying another camera. A back-up. With a built-in battery charger. At a price of 299 euros. I had all but given up finding the kind of charger that goes with my Samsung. Anyway, I wandered into an electronics store in Carbonia in Sardinia. Looked at the cameras. And told the clerk of my dilemma. He gave me the address and phone number of a Samsung outlet in Carbonia. In I went the next day. Found the unit I needed. For 25 euros. Yes, I had to come to faraway Sardinia. To find what I couldn't find in Minnesota. Another reason for me to proclaim, 'Long live Sardinia.' --Jim Broede
