Into the realm of spirits.

I was touched by spirits the other night. At dusk. On the top open-air deck of a ferry. On the Mediterranean Sea. Returning to the Sardinian mainland. From La Maddalena Island. One of those rare moments. An out-of-body experience. Totally relaxed. At ease. A gentle breeze. A half-moon breaking through the clouds. The glitter of lights from the hilly shoreline. Silhouetted lovers leaning over the railing. I was being welcomed. Into the realm of spirits. --Jim Broede
