Not to making the few rich.

The problem with Republicans is that they want everybody to have the opportunity to get rich. Wealthy. To become millionaires and billionaires. When 99 percent of the people don’t want that. Instead, they’ll settle for modest incomes and modest success. Money ain’t everything for most of us. We can settle for far less than monetary riches. Instead, we want the basics. A decent retirement income. Social security. A decent education.  Socialized medicine.  A nice parks system. Public libraries. Public schools.  A safety net for the poor. And yes, a narrowing of the gap between the rich and the poor. It all comes down to serving the common good. Not to making the few obscenely rich. –Jim Broede
