Rather be student than teacher.
I’d rather be a good learner than a good teacher. Just told my Italian true love that. She’s a teacher. Teaches English and English literature. Not sure how she’s gonna take my remark. No immediate reaction. She’s occupied. Busy preparing for a day of teaching. Not sure I’d make a good teacher. Because I’m busy, too. Learning. Not sure that I have anything to teach. And if I did, don’t know how I’d go about it. I’ll ask my true love later today. What training does one need to be a good and effective teacher? Maybe one doesn’t necessarily need training. Could be there are natural born teachers. I’d much rather be a natural born learner. A student of life. That’s precisely what I’m doing. Learning. A lot about life. And love, too. I’m fascinated by it all. Don’t know if any of the stuff I’ve learned can be taught. –Jim Broede
