Thank god for socialism.

Many  Americans may be in love. Without even knowing it. In love with socialism. Thing is, Americans have been told repeatedly that socialism is bad, bad, bad. That there’s nothing good about socialism. That’s been the drumbeat for two generations. Capitalism is good. Socialism is bad. But I haven’t been duped. And more and more Americans are coming to realize that socialism is good. And capitalism ain’t necessarily as good as it’s been portrayed.   Problem is, a fair number of Americans are ignorant. They have virtually no grasp of real socialism. They don’t understand that Social Security and Medicare are socialist programs. Take away those programs, and Americans will yelp in protest.  Shows that they love socialism. In many cases, without knowing it’s socialism.  Public education is socialism, too. Many, many programs designed to serve the common good.  Public transit.  Public parks.  Public utilities. Public infrastructure.  Social service programs.  Especially the safety nets for the poor. It’s all socialism. Thank god for socialism.  Love it. Love it. Love it. –Jim Broede
