On Obama and human decency.

I stayed in America. Just long enough to  vote for Obama. It was my sacred duty. Wouldn’t have mattered if I had left for Italy earlier. And not voted. Obama would still have won a second term. Gives me renewed faith in America.  In most Americans. Not in Republicans.  They are evil, for the most part. Generally, I don’t like politicians. It’s just that some are less evil than others. I don’t like politics. The way it’s played. Yes, in evil ways.  I keep wondering if there’s such a thing as a good politician. Maybe Obama. Maybe Mandela. But even they are corrupted by the political system.  The raw nature of politics.  It’s a yoke around their necks. An albatross.  One can’t get rid of it. Many politicians are full of hate.  Republicans hate Obama to the degree that they’d bring down the nation. If only they could defeat Obama. Some dislike him solely because of his blackness. They are racists. Bigots. But Obama has prevailed. A remarkable feat for a black man in a racist society. Makes Obama an incredible president. And a remarkable man. That’s why I voted for Obama. He has the makings of a decent human being.  Precisely what Republicans dislike. Human decency.  –Jim Broede
