We may wait forever.
Italians are haphazard parkers and agonizingly slow at fixing problems. When it comes to parking their motor vehicles, that is. The tenants in our building all have assigned marked parking stalls. And I assume every car would fit if everybody stayed within their lines. Though it would be a tight fit. Invariably, someone overlaps. And therefore, the next guy overlaps, too. And before one knows it, somebody can’t squeeze in. Used to be yelping and screaming. But hey, the Italians and the lone American (me) have learned to put up with it. We complain to the building administrator. And he promises to fix the problem. For over two years now. We’re all waiting patiently. Knowing full well that if things go the Italian way, we may wait forever. –Jim Broede
