Better in my heart and mind.

Though I’ve cultivated a desire to travel, you’ll find me staying in one spot for a long time. Because it takes time to really get to know a place. To blend in. To begin to feel like a native. I’m leery of travelers who are always in a hurry. To get on to the next destination. They don’t know how to fully savor where they are at. I’d rather spend two solid weeks in Prague than to traipse all over Central Europe in that time. I’d be spreading myself far too thin. Another thing. When I mosey about a town, my camera often is tucked away.  I’d rather record what I see and experience in my heart and mind than in a digital camera.—Jim Broede
