Italians showing us the way.

I tell my Italian true love to be an optimist. That even tough days often turn out to be easy days. She lamented that she had a very busy schedule. Having to teach five classes today. But turns out that two classes were canceled when students went on strike. Not over educational matters. But in support of an industrial workers strike. That’s right. Students in Italian schools are allowed and even encouraged to strike for a variety of reasons. Not the least being in support of labor unions.  We need more of that in the USA.  Student walkouts. Militant involvement in social, political and social issues.  I like it. Italians showing us the way. Another reason for optimism. –Jim Broede
