On choosing our own truths.
A friend believes in reincarnation. Absolutely. Unequivocally. Therefore, that’s his truth. He knows beyond a doubt. For him, it’s real. He’s been reincarnated before. He’ll be reincarnated again. I wouldn’t even try to convince him otherwise. I’d have a better chance of persuading Jesus that he really didn’t walk on water. It was all a figment of his imagination. I’m not sure that one truth is more truthful than another. I believe that everyone is entitled to his/her own truth. That’s the way the creator designed it. Incidentally, I believe in a creator. Only because I want to. That’s all it takes. We all get to pick and choose our own truths. –Jim Broede
