Simple, divine pleasure.

Raindrops on the window. They inspire me. Make me feel good. Better than sunshine. I take what I get. Making the most of it. I must tell my Italian true love. That today I am enamored by tiny raindrops. And off in the distance, I see a haze. Raindrops from a distance. She’s burdened. With household chores. Doesn’t notice the beauty of raindrops. I’m gonna offer to do the chores. The cleaning. And I’ll tell her. Go look at the raindrops. On the window. See the haze, too. Meanwhile, I’ll do the chores.  Observing the fine pattern of the tile floors. And the curves and texture of the Italianate furniture. The sparkle of the crystal chandelier. And the blooming tulips on the front balcony. Believe me. The chores ain’t work. But simple, divine pleasure. –Jim Broede
