The virtue of patience.
Ain’t always easy getting on the Internet in Italy. Might have something to do with the system. Or maybe it’s our computer. About 80 or 90 percent of the time, it’s fairly functional. But other days, it’s downright frustrating. Especially for my Italian true love. I have considerable more patience. And I get everything to work. Eventually. Maybe after two or three hours of trying. Seldom do I give up. I always can go into ‘words’ and write. Without having to connect to the Internet. Until I want to post in my blog. That can wait. Though I like to post every day. No doubt, I’m less than a computer expert. I master a few basics. Enough to get by. I have no desire to be a computer whiz. All that technical stuff baffles me. It was much easier mastering the typewriter. Used to have quite a collection of typewriters. Including some antiques. But got rid of ‘em some years ago. More and more, I get rid of stuff. But still, I have far too much stuff. Useless stuff. That’s one good thing about my Italian true love. She encourages me to dispose of stuff. She likes a clean and well-organized place. No clutter. She’s very good for me in that respect. Others ways, too. I’m also good for her. Very good. Especially when I tutor her about the virtue of patience. –Jim Broede
