Spurring friends to new heights.
Went climbing a mountain today. Where I’m living. In the Sardinian city of Carbonia. That’s one of the wonderful things about living in Paradise. On any given day, I can trek up a mountain or go swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s possible to do both on the same day. From the top of Lion Mountain, I could see the Mediterranean, less than 20 miles away. My Italian true love has lived here virtually all of her life. But she was never to the mountain top before. My Italian friend Bruno proposed climbing the mountain. And I insisted that my true love come along. Turns out this was only Bruno’s second trip up the mountain. And he’s 65. Meanwhile, I’m bragging. That my presence spurs my Sardinian friends to reach new heights. –Jim Broede
