My favorite form of expression.

Always liked the idea of expressing myself. Maybe that’s why my nickname, when growing up, was ‘Big Mouth.’ Except in my family, we used the Czech words. I let everyone know where I stood. On this and that. On anything. I was born opinionated. Didn’t necessarily mean I had well-informed opinions. I just had opinions. But somewhere along the way, I also learned how to listen. And my opinions changed. Becoming far less conservative. And far more liberal.  Meanwhile, I was being hauled off to Sunday School. And became confirmed in a Protestant denomination. Before I really started thinking for myself. And wised up. And became a spiritual free-thinker. With a disdain for organized religions. Still later in life, I fell in love. Not only with a true love, but with life itself. Little wonder that I became a romantic idealist. A lover, too. And a dreamer. I also became a writer. And made the written word my favorite form of expression. –Jim Broede
